Tuesday Night Double Blind $40+ (Alpharetta, GA): Deep neon green; lemon, almond, slight butter, oak, almost tropical fruit, age, butterscotch, mineral; a bit more neutral on the palate, seamless, more limpid in its acidity, not super rich, lovely lemon, oak just shades; was thinking a well done Sonoma Coast Chardonnay.

A blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Blanc. Only 15,000 bottles made each year. Hand-picked grapes, approximately 12 months in oak and 6 months in cement before sleeping in the bottle for 6 months until release. Attention to detail paramount. Dark, amber yellow on the eye. We mean she captures you as she enters the ballroom...sadly, every suitor is thinking the same. She lulls you into submission with her Siren song...that you smell and do not hear until you are transfixed in her spell of toasted almonds, mature citrus, creamy vanilla and a touch of flowers. You almost do not want to sip knowing your nose will be longing for another sniff...and another...and another. Palate is burnt caramel, toasted almonds, lemon-lime, mild acidity and some preserved veggies. Wow, wow, wow. We would book the Presidential Suite for her...even if she chose another with whom to enjoy the decadence. One of our favourite whites!
