Community Tasting Notes (2) Median Score: 82 points

  • Last Mondavi wine in the cellar. Nor a particularly good wine, though the year 1997 was quite good in Napa. Color is excessively bricked for 11 years. The nose smells of wet earth and electrified air along with stewed fruit. There is fruit on the palate but it has thinned out. No distracting falvors or notes, just thin. No perceptible oak. Wine is quite smooth. No bite and some nice lingering tannin on the finsih. Probably not intended to be held this long.
