Medium greenish-gold. Complex stony/mineral aromas, with toast/wheat notes, golden raisins, baked apples. Medium bodied, with good balance and freshness, delineated apple, walnut, mineral flavors, with good balancing acidity and a minerally/nutty finish. Good intensity mid-palate and reasonably long on the finish. Elegant, lovely, and still youthful. Perhaps lacks a bit of power but not makes up for it with its grace.

Great white burg from a mediocre vintage-- still drinking young, exceedingly fresh and complex. Pale gold color, with a greenish tinge. The aromas were closed at first, but after half an hour opened up with elegant honeysuckle, pear and coconut (is this a sign of slight botrytis?) underlaid by nice minerality. The tropical aromas eventually receded as the nose became more intense and lemon/pear with lots of minerality. The palate mirrored the nose... lush flavors that became more mineral-laden with air, though the fruit remained almost painfully intense throughout. Palate staining is a good descriptor-- pear, honeysuckle, golden raisins and lemons. Long finish. Very good stuff, while never becoming more than medium-bodied. Maybe lacked explosiveness and breadth, which kept it from getting a really high score. Wonderful companion to sauteed shrimp and risotto.
