Wonderful wine in pristine condition. Cork perfect. Blackcurrant nose, and first fruit impression. Beautifully integrated with delicious soft oak tannin. Drank with a mushroom risotto. Outstanding!!

Still strong depth to the colour and a surprisingly narrow rim of bricking.
Quite restrained nose, with black cherry backed by cocoa, leather, a touch of green pepper and violet, with a little fumeyness. Swirling reveals sweeter but darker fruit.
Quite soft/plush on the medium (and a bit) bodied and quite savoury palate, the acidity coming through well on the finish. Some soft tannins remain but not intrusive at all.
Worth the cellaring? I'm not entirely convinced. There's not a huge amount of complexity, though maybe it's more easy going now.

At Penfolds masterclass: Takes a while to open up but gains complexity and the secondary flavors show up witj orange, leather. An earthy mid palate and finish. Better nose than palate.

A fine, balanced and mature Shiraz at it's peak drinking window.

Gentle nose of black fruits, earth, soy and leather. Fine palate, fully resolved. Elegant and long. Enjoyed.
