Had some initial funk that blew off quickly. It definitely benefited from getting air in the glass becoming more expressive overtime. Very bright and lively with light red fruit in balance with earthier elements. Tasted next to the 1966 which was far more powerful. The 62 was delicate, but never faded and had more energy/tension than the 66.

Quarterly wine group dinner. Good fill and cork came out in 2 pieces. Good aged Bordeaux. On the lighter side, did not fade through a 3 hour dinner. Lacked punch on the finish, but otherwise quite enjoyable. Was overshadowed by the '66 Cheval served side by side.

At a White Horse Tavern in the north country: A lesser wine, I suppose, than the 1959, less concentrated, but on the evening I preferred this for the 1959; quite cool, elegant, cab franc showing through, very mineral and discrete in a good way. Better with air.

Cheval Blanc Vertical Tasting (Old Swiss House, Lucerne, Switzerland): Mature brick red. Nose was dominated by leather and mushroom notes. Good length but too much acidity. Dry and just one dimensional. Drink now
