  • Incredible nose with dark fruits, mushrooms, cigar box, and bright berry notes. Medium acidity with notes of underwood, cherries, cassis, tobacco, and savory on the palate. The tannins are integrated but still provide good structure. Long and lingering finish. Wow, this is a complete and beautiful wine. Drinking absolutely perfectly right now.

  • A private Cheval Blanc tasting (Bolomey Wine Imports, Amsterdam, NL): Tasted blind. Brought as a surprise gift by one of the participants. Opened on the evening before. Fully mature, tannins are mostly resolved, lovely freshness and energy, good fruit, orange peel, marvellous tertiary aromatic evolution, transparent and precise, has lost a lot of weight but not its harmony or precision, fills out with oxygen, good length. I guessed an older vintage.
