Fruit forward nose. Tons of dried cherry, blue fruit, and a bit of sweet hoisin sauce and spice. Lovely on the palate, with medium weight, med acid, med+ tannin. There is a lot of power here and the fruit is hanging on well. Delicious. This will be better in 5+ years.

Nose: Dark cherry, dark red berries, leather, spice and nice herb notes. The red fruit just comes in perfumed waves with outstanding complexity at the edges. Cedar, leather, anise and chinese five spice all emerge. Palate: The palate is equally well balanced and perfumed. The red fruit is precise silky and mature. Finish: Just brilliant. A silky well integrated Cheval Blanc that was showing perfectly.

Red vine notes, perfumy, pot-pouri; soft entry, balanced, structured, but just a bit thinner mid-palate after the Diamond Creek. Good, but surrounded by 2 better heavy hitters (09 Diamond Creek and '85 Lynch Bages). Guessed '05 Right bank. Lawry's DD TOC Blind. Very good shape for '95.

My last experience with this was underwhelming and generally meh. This was anything but. Stunningly fragrant with remarkable clarity and brightness to the dark fruit, herbs, leather, and tobacco flavours, very polished on the palate with the tannin gentler than I'd expect for the vintage, and a remarkably silky texture. Beautiful wine.
