Earthy and pure, cool and stony. Richly fruited with notes of black cherry, raspberry and blood plum. Great breadth and depth. Thoroughly engaging and really quite delightful.

Quick decant. So bright and lifted on the nose, bursting with red fruit and a hint of baking spice. Palate is luscious and complex, layers of fruit and spice. Truly one of the best of the vintage.

Whole bottle consumption at Kontrast Olso. Beautiful nose upon immediate opening with wet clay, earth, rich perfume and velvety berry showing. Palate was pristine and nuanced, velvety and concentrated, strawberry fruits and flowers prevail, crunchy minerals as well. Excellent concentration and a long finish.

Mugneret-Gibourg Ruchottes-Chambertin 2017. Dette er Bjørn Wirkola. En sinnsyk dybde i duften. Glasset kan stå i timesvis og den bare vokser. Det ligger lagvis, mørke bær, krydder, parfyme og blomster. Stor intensitet - helt altoppslukende. Nesten en tåre her. Kremet munnfølelse som svever i munnen. Kraft og eleganse hånd i hanske med en sublim fruktkvalitet. Høy konsentrasjon og en pen friskhet. Ung, men helt fantastisk - muligens enda bedre om 20 år. Er så mye frukt å lagre på. Dette er vin på et nivå man ikke møter ofte. Seriøst sexy! Dupper aldri i smakskurven - dette toget stopper ikke før endestasjonen. Tanninene er så bra - bestemte, likevel silkemyke. Ettersmaken sitter og sitter en evighet. Fantastisk vin. 97p+

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): Walk around tasting. Mostly black cherry with some intriguing red cherry emerging in the middle. Faint meaty spice bringing in the Gevrey, with concentration getting greater each time I taste this wine. Cellar until 2027 forward, 92-93 point potential.
