Again oaky on the palate, more crunchy cherries and stony plums. Lovely fruit purity.
Very typical of the year structurally, quite acidic but very fresh and extremely moreish.

An inviting nose of fresh earth and berries. It is relatively compact and linear in the mouth, with a real stony base. It really breathes up and is elegant, highly-perfumed and expansive. Delicious wine.

Not a show-stopper, but this had lovely spice and persistence. It is on the lighter side of Ruchottes but not out of line given the vintage, and how I often find 2001s to be tender. This is fully mature and unlikely to improve - which is good since this was my last bottle!

A very good wine here but for me behind the 91 and 07 vintage tasted that evening. Felt quite mature and borderline tired to me so I think I would be drinking this up.
