Popped and poured. Overt nose of blackberry jam, tobacco and iron. The wine is a bit rounded and jammy but still delicious with flavors black currant, blackberry, herbs and spice. I don’t see this evolving much but it’s reasonably enjoyable now.

VNHB, in Jancis-speak. 60% Gaglioppo, 40% Cabernet. Mineral and black fruit nose. Lighter body than expected, refined tannin, black cherry and mineral. Was expecting a powerhouse wine, but it has a certain restrained elegance.
