Drank over two days. Dark fruit and somewhat sturdy at first. Twenty or so hours of air later its is clean, resolved, but a little ahead of itself. Great fruit quality for what is underneath. Very good depth too. 92-93

Tasted next to Grivot’s 2010 Clos de Vougeot. More expressive and “ready”. Dark fruit, spices, earth, mushrooms on the nose, mineral notes, too. On the palate expressive and fine, well integrated tannins, very harmonious with good acidity. Smooth and elegant with fine length. Drink or keep. 92-94

Clos Vougeot - Ech/Grand-Ech Side Tasting (Chicago): 05/10. Brooding and tight nose. Palate is large scaled with concentrated grand cru fruit and significant firm structure. Not a lot of pleasure now but has the balance to age. Better in 10+ years.

Some Wine Tasted at the Zachys La Paulée Auction; 3/10/2022-3/11/2022 (Le Bernardin Prive - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Bottle had been opened the previous evening, and revisited this afternoon, at which point it seemed very tired to me, which is surprising for a 2005.
