Slow oxed for 6 hours before consumption and tasted blind alongside another two barolos from 2015 it came definitely on top. This is a wine of great balance and elegance. All elements are perfectly in place, the mesmerising nose, the firm palate feeling and the long and delicious aftertaste. Got similar readings from their nebbiolo a few weeks ago. Great stuff.

Opened 3 of 4 to see if others were oxidized like the last one. Happy to report this one was perfect. Previous was clearly flawed. Color, tannins, palate, all way better.
Cheers!

The color is pretty remarkable. Very brick, almost brown. As a fan of new world wines, this color trips me up and makes me think it’s older than it is. The color alone makes it seem like an 80’s Napa cab.
The tannins are nicely integrated and soft. Very pleasant on the palate. This leaves plenty of room for the taste of the wine. The acid is medium to medium plus and accents the cherry flavor well. Outside of cherries, I feel like this is all secondary. Mushroom, compost, slight truffle.
Definitely a good change up from all the fruit bombs I’m used to. I don’t see this improving with more time, in my opinion. Hard to believe the drinking window, according to CT, is just now starting. For $75, I feel like the QPR is a bit off.

Was just an ok Barolo. Good, but not great or memorable. Paired with Rib Eye.

Tasted at Noble Rot.
Pleasant notes of dark cherries, iron with a hint of truffle. Powdery tannins. Takes a bit of time to open up.
