The Verticals Tasting at 2023 La Paulée (Eventi Hotel, New York): Light ruby. Slight funk. Light to medium bodied. The feel isn’t great, and there is too much soil for a meager amount of fruit. I didn’t get to retaste it, but this was such a different showing than 3 years ago that I suspect this was an off bottle.

La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Eventi Hotel - New York NY): Walk around tasting. Ripe red fruit with an old vine concentration that adds lots of intensity. Subtle spice trying to break through, with structure in the near background, this has lots in reserve, even while balanced now. More may emerge with cellar time.

You can taste the pedigree, but the wine needs a bit more time to soften up. Juicy/slightly tart red raspberry with a touch of sous bois, fresh, better with food today. 91-92 today, 92 over time?

Cherries and red berries. Aromatic in the mouth, and has good acidity, but light fruit. Slightly dry tannins. Give it another 5-7 years. 91+ potential

A modern red Burgundy, for me a bit unripe and unbalanced. Well structured. Decanted only for half hour, needs time 92+
