  • A fully mature CA cab. Lovely light-to-medium frame, with dried fruits, sandalwood and cedar in abundance. This was probably at peak a few years ago (to my tastes). I don't see this developing farther, so I'm glad I went for it now.

  • Not sure what happened in '03, but this wine is phenomenally good. It has enticing dark fruit and earthiness on the nose. Medium-bodied, with lovely plum, blackberry fruit and nice integration of oak/tannin and a beautiful balance with acidity. Extremely elegant with cedar and anise notes emerging during the smooth, lingering finish.

  • Deep, dark reddish-purple garnet in color with ever-so-slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, cassis & plums with overtones of cedar & earthy notes, cocoa, olives, mint, anise, tobacco, leather, dried herbs, minerals, spices & a hint of vanilla/oak in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & cassis with herbs, minerals, cocoa, spices & vanilla/oak in the background. Long lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present & should hold onto its current peak for a few more years if cellared properly despite being 23 years old. However, I doubt any further development would occur, so drink up.

  • Purchased direct from the winery after release. This wine is drinking beautifully and still seemed like it had plenty of life left.

  • A little stinky nose and the flavors seem past their prime.
