Blind. Recognizable style, notable oak, perfumed red and purple fruit, spicy, if a touch too oaky. Lachaux VR 1er 18? Still not quite convinced on the quality. 92

Dark and concentrated, this would seem to be closing down a bit, compared with the last bottle opened in May. However, I was able to save half the bottle and revisited two days later, and it really sang. Showed very elegant and delicious. Just a really well put together Vosne with all the elements you want, gorgeously perfumed dark fruit, depth, complex spice and refreshing acidity.

Touch of cedar from new oak, and flowers. Not overtly stemmy, just vivid and flavourful, with bright red fruit and plenty of gingerbready spice. Very fresh and energetic. Dark, juicy finish. Deft and elegant and drinkable, but the acidity is a little bit too marked.
When I was first pouring this wine, in to smaller bottles for a virtual tasting, this had by far the best aromatics of the Arnoux-Lachaux lineup, archetypal Vosne with a definite flair and power to it. While those same fireworks were somewhat withheld when we as a group got around to tasting, it was still easily one of the two wines of the night. Shows excellent, plush dark fruit, but also with great freshness, complex spices, and a mineral component giving plenty of acidic freshness. The tannins here are quite ripe and saturated by the fruit, with little to no loss of freshness. Shows nice sustain and follow through on its graceful finish. A classic and impressive Vosne. Have heard the plot here is thin and vertical, running from the north to the south right in the middle of the vineyard.
