Great terroir on the Southern Slopes. Just arrived in 2017. Being surrounded by lots of amazing producers as well. A change of ownership so really switching up styles. More juicy fresh minerality, and long on the finish. More spices, more dark fruit to it.

Vibrant nose of blueberry compote, fine leather and forest after a rain storm. Out of the bottle it was a little tight with notes of leather and earth. The color is bordering garnet and translucent purple. Gave it a hour + decant, and the fruit came forward. Blue fruit, purple plum in a juicy mixture up front leading to fine leather, anise and terroir. The tannins are well rounded, with no rough edges, borderline silky. The wine finishes long, slightly dry, but extremely satisfying. Served with braised short rib with polenta. Going to keep the extra bottle around for a little bit, but this wine is drinking great now. Should keep for many years in the cellar. Would share with friends, drink during a special occasion dinner, or the casual steak dinner, this wine hits all of those points. Good stuff, and a tremendous value for St. Emilion.

This opaque crimson wine was decanted through a Vinturi aerator and serially tasted over the ensuing three hours. A blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is laden with ripe black currants, dark bramble fruits and blueberries on both the nose and palate. The fruit is nicely accented with notes of lavender, truffle, pipe tobacco, cocoa and mulling spices. Medium-to-full-bodied, fresh and with nicely integrated alcohol (listed as 14.5%), it wraps its flavors with plentiful sweet tannins and a judicious aliquot of oak. Dense in the middle and lengthy on the back end, this is an adeptly-crafted wine that beautifully balances all of its components. The structure is in place to ensure that well-cellared bottles will reach their twenty-fifth birthday with grace. If you choose to pop the cork at this juncture, splash-decanting and an hour of air or more in carafe will be beneficial. Drink now-2043.

Very smooth and refined. Full bodied but not overpowering. Drank very well but will sit on some as it seems to have potential to develop further

Rich full powerful fruit character to it. And great length and minerality. South exposure. Lots of power. And very powerful.
