Just about there. Licorice, juicy plums, cherries, smoke, espresso bean and earthy aromas meld perfectly with the medium/full bodied, fresh, round, sweet, red berry fruits in the finish.

80% Merlot / 19% Cabernet Franc / 11% Cabernet Sauvignon. A generous amount of coffee bean on the nose, along with red plums and cherry. A similar profile showing through on the palate, in the sense of freshly ground coffee bean, cherries, tobacco, strawberry, blackberry, and a touch of tart black currant to round out the palate. Moderate tannin, with medium acidity. A nice, well made wine, but not worth the price my local store was asking for it.

Bordeaux 2008 (Bordeaux): Warm and smooth, black fruit on the nose and palate which perhaps lacks some focus. Overall good plum, ripe aspect, certainly pleasing, but a tad hot on the finish. 88-90

A little better than the Bolaire, but still weak, blurry/fruity nose but closed on the palate. Perhaps some decanting is needed. 88+
