Decanted for two hours. Dark garnet colour. Dark fruit, plum, chocolate, cocoa, cigar box, tobacco, spices, and cinnamon, with round, partly resolved tannin, and very good length. Smoothly textured from day two, and more complete overall. Leathery, spicy, and lightly balsamic on day three. Aging well, and should be even better in 5+ years. Drink or hold.

The wine had a nice purple color and an initial soft finish. I decided to decant the wine and after 30-45 minutes it became more full bodied with a longer smooth finish. It was amazing the way the wine opened up and became more vibrant over the course of the meal. Enjoyable and nice surprise.

Served at my 1995 single blind tasting. I was the only sighted person. I thought this was an excellent wine, especially for $35. It was immediately a nice robust deep crimson. It still had some tannins, but easily the giveaway was the musty, cigar box that followed the wine throughout. I think I would have gotten this even if I wasnt the pourer. Old world. Great wine.

Very mature. Seems to have "lost it's luster" but still enjoyable. The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like mineral and bark. The body is light/medium. The wine finishes medium.
