Maybe poor storage is at play here, but this bottle is showing quite port-like and boozy on the nose, with stewed fruits and chocolate. A bit hot on the palate, with some sweet dried fruits. Hopefully this is just an off bottle, or maybe this is just in an awkward phase right now, but either way I’m underwhelmed.

Coravin taste was concentrated but closed and quite tannic. A brisk “Mollydooker shake” of the remaining wine (in lieu of a decant) really improved the bottle. A complex and expressive nose was followed by lush flavors of cherry, espresso, cassis, tobacco, spice and. touch of coffee and chocolate on the lengthy finish.
We had this solo but would have also been good with lamb, beef or maybe chicken.
Drink with a decant (or a vigorous shake) or hold for further improvement.
