Pecchenino Zoom tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of lovely sweet red florals, chalky earth minerality, classic sour red cherries. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, fine high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet red licorice, classic sour red cherries, ripe red cherries, chalky stones minerality, earth, balsamic herbs + spices. Long finish. Very good quality. My score may even be conservative. Upside potential for sure as this develops over the next 10 years. Though it is fairly accessible now already actually. Blend of 35% from Le Coste di Monforte, 15% from Bussia and 50% from Ravera.

Tight but well defined aromatic grace the nose with layers of menthol, old wood, sweet black cherry, a little darker fruits, dried rose, tar, pignoli and a fine array of dried spice notes with just a hint of a touch of roasted meatiness. Tight on entry as well, though with a certain richness on the palate, and great building intensity of flavors. Structurally this is moderately powerful but well balanced with juicy acidity and abundant, though quite ripe tannins. This is lovely, fresh, complex, earthy with balsamic and underbrush cast to the taut, crystalline, berry fruit, with hints of pomegranate, all culminating in a broad, long, pure finish which displays good energy and drive. Quite a classic wine, tannic yet fruity, with just a suggestion of rusticity that I find appealing.

Splash decanted. Red. with just a touch of dark red fruit aromas and flavors. Structured, great inner power and persistence. Enough acidity and depth of fruit that result in a wine that will be best enjoyed in the mid and long-term. HOLD. highly recommended
Pretty appealing fruits of cherries, raspberries, graphite, hints of tar and hints of balsamic. Beautiful saltiness at the bottom. Good full-bodied wine with quite a nice richness in the mouthfeel with the present cherry fruit, fruit peel, slightly dried fruit, ripe orange peel and a hint of ripe rosehip. Deep saltiness. Good acidity. The tannin structure is firm, but still not too demanding. This wine has a good potential for storage. Distinctive and really pretty Barolo.
