Dinner at Tonny's (Tonny Restaurant, Geylang Lor 3, Singapore): Pretty enjoyable, but this felt a bit of a way from being truly ready. The nose was rather rich, in true Ghislaine Barthod fashion, which thick wreathes of strawberries and cherries, earth and spice, with just a hint of Chambolle’s florals at the edges of the bouquet. The palate was still rather backward, showing powerful, but subtly expressive flavours of dark cherries and berries, laced with more of the spice picked up on the nose. There was a good bit of acidity that gave the wine a nice lift on the midpalate, but this fell into a rather thinner, just that little bit woody finish. Good, but rather incomplete.

At Imperial Treasure Peking Duck Paragon to welcome Peter back from his Aussie adventure. Red with a slightly tawny rim. A sweet floral nose, with earth, mushrooms and stewed fruit. On the palate, fruit were again stewed, with plum and old cherries. Slight hint of truffles. This wine was matured, but still maintained good vibrancy. A pleasant wine.

2011 Simple Dinner Series 11 :: A night with 98s Chambolle (Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck @ Paragon): Alcohol :: 13% Light ruby red, brown hue. Very expressive and high tone: sweet raspberry, red plum, caramel, brown sugar, forest floor, that wrapped up with attractive floral scents. This is quite powerful on the palate with very good concentration of sweet dark and red cherry fruits that cloaked in feminine package and show a little bit of finesse, though a bit rough on the tannin, it lends better grip to the palate and leads to the very sappy, slight rubbery finish that linger with sweet strawberry and touch of fresh wood, and little bit bitter. Although this is lack of a bit of lift, this is still a delicious juice.
