From a nice looking bottle, this wine had a yellow center and clear rims. The nose was quite tight at first but developed well with air to show medium- intensity notes of citrus, pear, minerals, and white flowers.
In the mouth, this wine was ripe with huge acidity and great length.
This wine was certainly less dramatic than the Raveneau but was powerful and majestic in its own way. I seem to recall having had more dramatic and complex bottles.

Great, surprisingly light golden color. This smelled like a much younger wine. Apples, orchard fruit, and a hint of butter popcorn on the intense and highly complex nose. Great acidity and balance on the palate with creamy, right texture, yet lots of minerals, salinity, and citrus flavors. Over time, a strong butter component also emerged. Very long finish. Wow, this is a benchmark. So young tasting, yet so refined. This is probably as good as Chablis gets. I might be underrating this.

Tasted blind, this wine had a deep yellow/light gold center. The high- intensity nose that blasted citrus, acacia flower, toast, marzipan and white stone.
In the mouth, this was quite ripe with great acidity and length. While this was a bit exotic relative to a traditional Chablis, I found it quite appealing.
While this wine is clearly drinking, it also will last at least 10 years in the bottle. Who knows, it may even get better in a few years. Too bad more recent Dauvissat vintages don't perform like this!

A bright, healthy gold. Mature Chablis notes include orange peel, truffle, and iodine. The palate shows some additional weight from age, with still-fresh acidity and a killer mineral undercurrent. The 1990 Les Clos is excellent and, if this bottle is representative, has years to go.
