  • I last drank a bottle of the 1990 Brolio vin santo around 15-20 years ago. This bottle, amazingly, tastes about the same as that one. Classic vin santo flavors of nutty dark caramel and a hint of molasses. Not sweet or cloying though. Very enjoyable. I still have another ‘90, plus a bottle of the ‘86, plus several ‘03s - glad to have them!

  • Heavily oxidised. Rather liike sweet Amontillado. Nuttiness overpowering anything else. A shame - this could have been nice once. Now it's just "ok". Unsure that this ia s "flaw" as such, or realy juist what happens when Vin Santo gets too old....

  • bottle threw a load of sediment
there was fine sediment in the wine as well as clinging to the shoulder of the bottle
Brown in color - caramel and roasted nuts on the nose
    with some oxidation
the wine had a nice, clingy mouthfeel withoug being viscous, and was in no way cloying - the palate follows the nose with caramel and nutty flavors
    Not bad.
