  Opened for Xmas Eve dinner with family. While the 2004 Sottimano Curra was severely oxidized and undrinkable, this had just a hint of oxidation. Brick red in color. Nice wine, but should have opened sooner.

  2017 Piemonte trip for Thuy's 40th!; 10/12/2017-10/15/2017 (Piemonte, Italy): This is no softie and maybe some decanting at this stage would help.
  It's big for a Barbaresco, but a true Barbaresco nonetheless, not modern or oaky and definitely has the 2004 signature. Big dark fruits, that signature tar feel, bright and full of energy. Felt quite flinty and note sure if it's from a bit too much salphur. 91 but definitely one needs to like the style

  Drank over 2 evenings with lasagna. Excellent dark fruit in a medium bodied wine; some mineral notes and forest floor notes to offset the fruit. I wish I had more.
