Popped and poured at Copake a few nites back. I've had this wine over the past year and the wine is still drinking well, tho there's no reason to wait any longer to uncork this one. There's red currant on the nose and palate, tart acidity, tannins are mostly resolved. Leather and tobacco elements are noticeable. Decent finish, if a bit short.

Q1 Wine Club - Aged Barbaresco (The Apt): Wine #3: The sortof winner because it was one of ours and we never wine these events. It was one of my favorites in the group though. The thing that stood out was just how fresh and inviting the wine was while still having that more balanced approach that age can give you. Good red currants and more baking spice and just a hint of iron ore maybe. Sometimes the winners of these events are wines that I am blown away by, but I would say this is a wine that I just really enjoyed. (12 pennies)

Popped and poured last nite. Still some red berry fruit here, a bit on the tart side. Color shows its age, but in good shape on the palate. Some tar, some leather on the finish. Much better, and more preserved than I expected

Medium dark garnet. A very gentle style that I would go as far as to call small-scaled, with little red fruits and flowers and the lightest touch of tannin. While expressive at first, the aromas petered out once the wine had been in the glass for a little while.

(Sottimano Barbaresco "Fausoni") Nose of juniper berries, sizzling bacon fat, menthol, dark roses and an earthy minerality under it all. Nice aromas. Very dark fruit profile that is quite explosive on the finish. Great wine but needs some time

Brick red in color, tart, lean with berry flavors. Small scale but well put together. Should last a few more years. I really liked the mouthfeel
