Very good barbaresco from an undervalued vintage. Focused and intense. Light and sweet red berries. Gentle tannins. Will age nicely for 5+ years but already open and fine.

Young BaBa 2014-2019 theme dinner at Duomo. Tasted blind. Drank in Conterno Sensory. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of red pomegranate, ripe red cherries, spices. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), grippy structured high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of red pomegranate, ripe red cherries, ripe red plum, lots of bright red spice, licorice. Long finish. Very good quality. Still young. This Barbaresco is built for more ageing. 2014 strong vintage for Barbaresco.

Still needs a bit of time. After a decant of 1.5 hours it started to show itself and it was all there. Classic and rounded with full bodied approach but light on its feet at the end.

Some unintegrated oak on the nose at first but gave way to a lifted floral nose of rose petals. Elegant, red cherry fruit with a silky palate. Quite Burgundian actually save for the slight tartness, no harsh tannins at all. Approachable now.

Even after an 1.5 hour decant i felt it wasnt enough. Pretty good wine but clearly needs more time.
