A deep garnet with long legs in appearance, the nose initially shows primary notes of cassis, herbs and a subtle waft of vanilla. With air, there is still blackcurrant/cassis, a herby menthol quality, vanilla soaked cherries , blackberries, and Kirsch. Acidity is still medium plus, there flavours of brambles and plum compote, with a short finish. This wine is in no sense profound , but is still a most satisfying lightish claret , that is a perfect match for roast lamb. Still surprisingly youthful, I would expect at least 5 years life ahead of it.

Ruby core with some tawney edges developing. Delicate nose, but actually showing a decent core of sweet cassis, and subtle flashes of green peppers and dried leaf & spice. Palate is medium to light bodied, can come across as thin (ish), though general structure is still fairly intact. Very straightforward, certainly not a great wine, but not the write-off some others seem to have experienced. Unlikely to get much better from here, but "ok" claret for a few years yet.

A bright, juicy start, but the attractive red cherry flavours are already starting to wane and there's nothing to back them up: no body, no tannins, no backbone at all. The finale is high pitched, acidic and short. Drinkable with food, but it needs to be drunk over the next few months whilst there is still some enjoyment to be had. Bearing in mind Citran's track record, this is surprisingly bad: I wonder what went wrong?

A very pleasant drink, still carrying some rich fruits and a simple structure, enabling it to be drank on its own.
