  • A: deep garnet
N: ripe red cherry, strawberry, dried herbs, chocolate, clove, earth, Tuscan dust, fresh purple flowers
P: dry, high acidity, high fine grain and ripe tannins, full body, 13.5% ABV
C: outstanding = balanced ripe fruit with secondary/tertiary and powerful but refined structure, pronounced intensity, med (+) complexity, med (+) concentration, long finish on ripe red cherry. Can drink now (with a few hours air) but should evolve over coming 5 years and then hold another 5-10 after that. First hour really restrained, 3rd hour starting to come together, 2 days later beautiful.

  • Bouquet of cherry candy, ripe berries, jam, mint, undergrowth. Lush palate of sweet berries, touch of mint and bitter elements, spices on the finish. Not hugely complex and long but a pleasure to drink and interesting to contemplate for a bit. In a good spot, why wait.

  • Drank at Ristorante 'Caffè Giusti' dal 1898 in the hilltop town of Montecatini Alto. A crowd favorite during our dinner. A sleek, sexy, fruit driven Chianti that was enjoyed immensely by everybody. We liked it so much, we all decided to visit the winery the next day. Unfortunately, once we arrived they could not accommodate us. The good news was that Riecine was only 20 minutes away and we had a wonderful visit there.
