Needs at least a 1 hour decant at this point, both for sediment and breathing. Big, Big.... wine. Did I mention this is a big wine? Nose was big blackberry, pomegranate, and tar. Taste was blackberry, big drying tannins, menthol, and pretty medium to heavy viscosity. I would give this 2 more years. Drink it at a full 10 years. Unlike the previous note, I dont see dessert wine on the label. This is NOT a dessert wine.

Weygandt Selections - Annual Portfolio Tasting (Astor Place - New York, NY): This was a treat. While not as accessible as the 2008, this was still enjoyable. Far more herbal than the 2008, this also had kirsch and rhubarb on the nose. The palate was very smooth with lingering drying tannins. Despite the tannins, it was still a very elegant wine.

Just had a quick taste.... Raisiny sweet fruit (says dessert wine on the label), earth, leather and a medicinal, peet, smoke quality that sort of reminded me of single malt. I am waiting another 4 years.

Still too young, tannins were quite harsh and the nose was a tad "hot" with the alcohol. Overall, a nice drop of Bandol though, and one can see that in 5 or more years this will be a nice example. The 2003 is silkier than the 2004, maybe the 2004 will get more sleek as it ages. Leave it in the cellar for a while, and I think you will be rewarded.

Medium+ palate of tobacco that became almost effervescent when consumed with some brie.
