Not rating as this was a weird one. Very nice deep dark juicy berry flavor - perhaps a bit too sweet if I were to say anything negagtive about the front end. This wine also had nice heft/viscosity/mouthfeel. But unfortunately, this wine was REALLY lacking on the finish - especially for a wine from this vineyard and at this price point. I mean there was like NO finish. Made me feel like I was drinking fruit juice. Front End / Mid palate I would rate a 94. Finish - 87

Couldn't celebrate moving in with my girlfriend with just any bottle - enter Myriad Dr. Crane. Popped with some hesitancy due to the mixed reviews on this vintage, but Mike Smith personally assured us he would not have put his name or the Myriad label on the line if he wasn't sure of its quality. This was in fact the last '20 Dr. Crane in Mike's possession, which he graciously offered us during a visit we will not soon forget.
An explosion of dark, red fruits greeted us after a 3-hour double decant, with each subsequent hour revealing more: pencil shavings, anise, tobacco, gooseberries and wet earth. This full-bodied cab packs a punch with balanced acidity and chewy tannins giving way to a long, polished finish. They say the cream always rises to the top, and in a year best remembered for the uncertainty and challenges it presented winemakers, this bottle is certainly a cut above its contemporaries.
Drank over two nights, slightly better 2nd day. First couple sips made me think of a candied blueberry, black cherry, açaí berry pie. With time, grippy tannins and a puckering acidity. If you like sweet dark fruit cabs, this is not to be missed. No smoke taint. Best not to let these sit too long or you might need a spoon.

Consumed over two nights. With most of it night two. By then it was very good, balanced but a big fruit wine, typical of what your would expect from Myriad. But it was singing day two. Lacour intensity but with depth and more. The current rating of 96 or so is reasonable.
