Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • 2023 Napa in the City: Tasting & Lunch (The Pool/Grill): One of my favorites of the tasting and really a producer that we should have spent more time with (I just have this memory of trying the 2015s some years ago at an event and they were all huge and intense and overripe and not my jam). Whether that was a misperception at the time or they have dialed the style back it is in a really nice spot at the moment. The texture almost just melts in your mouth. Vineyard is north facing and meant to be the most restrained of the three main ones. Mostly dry farmed. Soil as you might imagine is big red rocks. This was quite elegant and lovely for Napa. Still packs the power. I have really enjoyed this producer’s more aged wines and I suspect this is one that would do very well with some more years.
