(Diamond Creek Red Rock Terrace Cabernet Sauvignon) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-very polished & elegant; bright; ; PALATE-this is one of the smoothest bottle of Napa Cab that I've ever had…period; Super Silk; very bright fruit; not over-the-top; great balance of the oak; very 1st Growth Bordeaux-like; great polish; fantastic power; so much strength in the tannins; can put away for 50 years; nice acidity; a value in the "Super Luxury" category; this is more "true" than many wines more expensive; GV-96+

Very good but did not have the balance or exquisite layers of the Volcanic Hill served side by side. Bordeaux like qualities of earth, oak and leather on the palate with notes of bright, red fruit. The fruit was sweeter than I expected with maybe a hint of cola on the finish. Still, it’s Diamond Creek, sooooo.

I own quite a few of these, because we had a 2005-vintage baby, but sadly they won't make it to her 21st birthday. Wines from '05 that kept their alcohol in check, however, should do just fine.
