Decanted. Good deep color with no bricking. Red berries with dried herbs and some cedarwood. Nice old wine but lacking substance. Better with food. Held up for 4 hours without flagging.

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Tasted double blind. Lots of very large scaled, juicy black fruit, but with too much structure. While I'm not concerned that fruit will fade any time soon, I don't see this transforming into a harmoniously integrated wine any time soon either.

Shared over pizza and BBQ for a birthday dinner. This is very smooth now - one person described it as "creamy", since the tannins are now barely a memory. Quite drinkable, but well past its prime.

taste: well balanced medium/light feel with tones of mint, cassis, cedar, dark red berries, and cranberries. Well rounded and evolved with nice flavors and solid complexity, but lacking a bit of depth to take it to that next level
overall: A excellent example of a well aged cali cab. Nice balance and subtlety that harkens to a previous time. This was my first time having a birth year wine and it was a really nice one. Great balance, it would've been nice to spend some time with it to watch it possibly grow and let it show me everything it had to show me

A lean firm wine, yet with really rich red raspberry essence. Dry with some savory qualities. Really nice, dry, slight earthy. Nice chewy remains, somewhat faded, but quite good. Thanks Sheldon.
