  • Wow so this is Barolo! Who knew? Obviously everyone but me as I missed the cool kids juice while I was sitting in the sandbox drinking SumnyD. This was the first visit of the trip and was a real eye opener - these are some highly complex wines in front of me- even the cheap seats had tremendous range… was this a one off unicorn or is this the beginning of a fifth mortgage on my home. Only one way to find out!

What a wonderfully welcoming reception from Alex Sanchez, winemaker and family owner as he was beyond patient with my mind numbing ignorance (what is a grape like questions) and having to watch my facial expressions and emotions develop in ultra slow body like contortions as I tried to come to grips with how damn great Barolo and these wines are- and why didn’t I know this before literally getting no sleep plus 100% lost luggage (imagine what we looked like after 24 hours of travel in the same clothes we flew from SF in the day before).

Darker fruit, great tannins, great acid, salinity minerals. Very cool expression and package
