modest rating as this bottle was fine with dinner, would be happy to drink anytime (with food especially) but didn't really excite me or others, in no way bad at all, and certainly lively enough (acidity good) but simply a little light on the palate... too old to be shut down?

very nice Burgundy, great acidity and very light / bright / red fruit, wish the volume turned up just a bit on the fruit, there was a nice subtle spice element too but again the volume was a little down, in this respect it didn't help that we had alongside '98 Dujac gevrey champ Combottes (which had great volume)

drank in GA with Sedge after quail shoot, this wine was found in the cellar and it was a GREAT FIND, beautiful on the palate with sweet fruit and almost vanilla overtones (but to be clear, no oak evident), and some cinnamon taste and texture, creamy and dusty at the same time, and beautiful acids to give it lift… extraordinary, my buddy says you kiss a lot of frogs before getting a princess in burgundy, this was a true princess, thanks Sedge
