Opened 2 hours prior to dinner, had a sip (vibrant) decided not to decant put the cork back on after half an hour......Murkey ruby brown colour... On the nose Funky at first but this faded away I got rhubarb and gooseberrry and ginger, Very smooth on the palate, cherry, spice and leather tones, Very long finish.... much better than previous bottle, but this bottle was treated a lot nicer

Nice strong nose, stewed fruits, tannins very rounded off nice finish, I have tasted better vintages from this producer, perhaps i will drink up my remaining bottles from this vintage

Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin Singapore AGM dinner (Harbour Grill): First red of the night. Brown, orange rim with a core shading into garnet. Yet this was just about dark enough to suggest a younger wine. The nose was almost overwhelmingly funky at first - someone commented "dragon breath", another person said entrails - but it really opened up to show good typicity after some 15 minutes in the glass. Lots of leather, some Cantonese dried oysters, bramble, compacted earth and dark, ripe cherries underneath. None of the dried out fruit that Clive Coates warned about from this producer. Palate had a lot more of the dark cherry, just slightly stewed. While note exactly high-toned, they were fresher and more succulent than I would expect from a wine this old. This was wrapped in a rather pleasant leather and spice jacket with a savoury cooked-meat bass note. Tannins had softened and rounded off, but the wine was still very balanced. It finished soft and slightly perfumy. Strange after the funky start, but very pleasant nonetheless.

soft, elegant, mature with a hint of age just creaping out.
