With a bit of air this unfurled quite beautifully. Rustic aromas with cranberry, tart cherry, herbaceous and woody notes dominate. Silky entry with drying tannin and medium body. The acidity is fresh and in balance. The finish is quick but enjoyable. All in all, probably at its prime with a few more years of good drinking left. I just don’t know if the fruit will hold on longer than that.

first day without decant it was not revealing and a bit lean with some clear red fruit in there but not much joy. Day two with peking duck at a chinese BYOB the remainder was delicious starting with an earthy and herby nose and the more red fruit of butgundian inot that the ripe blueberry of an american Pinot. Needs air or more time in the bottle but well worth it

Purchased at vineyard in 2018. Probably past it’s prime, maybe never great, but group enjoyed at Thanksgiving.

Sylistically, the most elegant, sensual and red fruited of the bunch. Inrecdibly ripe fruit and that textbook hint of sauvage

Palais de Congres: Des Grands Vins de Bourgogne (Beaune): Rich, earthy, Gevrey spice, just a little lean/green nuance but nice. Good classic GC.
