A matter of taste 2024 (Kongresshalle, Zürich): *** Brief notes from wine fair, primarily for my own memory *** Glass: Stölzle Universal Consistent with my last note. Beautiful wine and certainly the best PQR from the winery. 93

Uva Wines portfolio tasting (Oinoscent): Warmth from 14.50% alcohol, herbal notes, earth, spice, thick oak, palate is smoother than expected, very ripe black fruit, red fruit, thick oak, rum-like, med to full body, long finish

Definitely a notch above the already great Classico. Soft texture but good acidity. Blackberry, black cherry, anise, vanilla, mineral and damp earth. Enjoyable after a few hours open but needs 5 plus years to fatten up.

Option for the 2023 #NationalChiantiDay was Fontodi’s tremendous Vigna del Sorbo Chianti Classico GS (v19, 14.5% ABV) - a purely spectacular effort already drinking at ease w > a decade to improve. Pure joy to drink. Dark ruby, translucent in the glass. Nose bursts w deep scents of cherries, vanilla, smoke, licorice, graphite, roses, violets, fresh leather, pepper. Palate is overly elegant at the fore, fruit-driven w a vanilla core, lively acidity w dryish tannins emerging as of mid-palate, closing spicy-dry! Wow!

Jesper Hedegaard tasting. Dark cherries under high acidity and some cherry stones. Probably high potential
