From Magnum. Opened for 2 hours. Color is garnet with some orange / brown on rim from age (but not a lot). On the nose: Cherry, sour barnyard funk and some spice notes. On the palate: Strawberry, cherry, garrigue , licorice and cassis and some stewed fruits on the finish (fig and plum). Tannins must have been massive when young and while they have integrated they’re still there. Very drinkable now but if you have I would still hold off a few years (maybe that’s the Magnum effect). I like to declare my bias and I am a huge Bonneau fan as it always takes me back to my working in Paris and discovering the wine at Plaza Athenee . Also I am an huge Rhone lover (North and South). This is my only bottle and I got tired of looking at it every couple of months. My score likely lifted by my emotion but this is a lovely ~25 year old bottle from a Master. Cheers to Henri. PS: Right in the heart of the time I was in Paris for 3 days every month.

La Tablee: Bonneau retrospective (Mercerie): Moderate wine. Perhaps again a bit less expressive than some others right in the beginning although it started to unfold in the glass. Give it a lot more time. Ours are going to sleep for awhile.

Steve Sigmond's 50th Birthday (Minneapolis, MN): Classically Bonneau, rustic, seemingly quite mature with baked fig notes but also a purity of fruit that gained more energy and clarity the longer it aired in the glass.

Opened at 5pm, very well resolved tannins and with some secondary flavors. Drank this next to the 07 and 09 celestins. Remarkably consistent across the vintages. And still very youthful.

Broadshouldered, rich, sweet Grenache singing here, emblematic Christmas spices going on, a manly wine - seems a point, judging from this bottle #SøllerødKro#Plesner
