Tasted at the Barolo and Barbaresco World Opening NYC. Traditional or modern, I can't quite tell...seems to taste of new oak with some distinct vanilla and baking spice. Floral, cherry fruit notes and fairly brooding. Darker than the 2020 Bernadot vineyard cru. I'm somewhat ambivalent on this one...

Suckling Wines of the World: no detailed notes but recall being impressed with this wine. Still young and structured and needs time to show its true potential.

Jeroboams Barolo 2019 tasting: Have to love the transparency of Ceretto's winemaking, allowing terroir to shine through. This is very La Morra. Beautiful rose, violets, floral notes. Tangy tar and iron, orange peel. Fruit plays second fiddle. Chalky tannins and a medium body.

Piemonte: Truffles instead of Turkey; 11/23/2023-12/2/2023 (Barolo, Barbaresco, Alto Piemonte and of course Alba): Initial impression almost of hand soap although I wonder if that wasn’t something in the glasses. This was all dark and more brooding in style as a wine. Interesting because in the 2010s I really loved this vineyard but in the 2019s this didn’t stand out quite as much to me. Softer finish at the end but still a bigger wine.
