  • LSN 2021 performs at top-level already today - the obvious conclusion after having thoroughly enjoyed the new vintage of this Bolgheri flagship (v21, 14.5% ABV, 50% Merlot, 28% Cab Sauvignon, 11% Franc, 11% PV). Dark ruby, purple reflections, semi-translucent w darkish core in appearance. The nose is packed w exquisite ripe dark fruit - cherries, plums, blackberries, spice, a tad reductive f first pour, smoke, earth, licorice dried herb. Balsamic, dense mouthfeel, elevated by m+ acidity, fruit-driven, grainy, blood-grape bitter finish!

  • I purchased this bottle after having a sip at an Italian wine tasting. The 2021 Le Serre Nuove is a very nice wine that needs some time. I popped and I let it breathe for several hours before tasting. One day one the wine was closed up. One day two the fruit began to emerge. On day three the wine began to shine. There is a fine layer of tannin that needs some time to wear away. I would recommend holding for five years. Is it worth $69 a bottle? I'm not positive.

  • A little tart upon opening but once aired was rich, complex and fruity with medium acidity and smooth moderate taniins. Jen liked it very much.

  • Tasting alongside the cheaper 2022 Tenuta Guado al Tasso (Antinori) Bolgheri Il Bruciato and 2021 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia Le Volte Toscana.

Immediately, I can tell this has a more pronounced scent with an ethereal depth and earthiness that reminded me of 2015 Rioja Alta Gran Reeserva 904 which I recently had and loved.

On the taste, very smooth, ethereal, deep, complex....very very nice. Not a concentrated intense wine...more of a light, elegant, ethereal wine. Fine smooth tannins. medium-low acidity. Very smooth. Hints of red fruit tartness.

It could age for a while but so delicious right now. Very impressed. Would get again.
