This is a really nice village Vosne with admiral depth to its pretty, fairly dark fruit. There's typical Vosne spice here with undertones of earth and minerality and a pretty decent finish. Quite delicious.

Pretty dark red in color, in fact almost Bordeaux like. Nose of tobacco and dark cherries, medium plus palate with very ripe fruit, perhaps also signs of very extraction? Some minerals in the background, quite a big village, not bad for its level if you like the style.

2006 Village Vosnes (Vin Vino, Palo Alto): Darkest, thickest looking wine of the bunch, somewhat unnatural, in fact. Some spice on the nose, which broadens over time. Oaky base but nice mixture of red and blue fruit. Medium to full bodied, this is chewy and has lowish acid but does not come across as heavy as the Girardin, in part due to grainier, drier tannins. This does cling to the palate and it has just a bit of sap that none of the other wines possessed. Still, I preferred the 2 wines that were lighter but more lively, and although I like some of the elements here, I'm not convinced that this has the balance to knit together into something more special.

dark fruit and wet stone. Earth and touch of asphalt. Nice balance.
