  • Strong nose of mint, subtle red fruits and chocolate, and some sous bois. Also some nice mint on the palate, a bit short on the mid palate and finish – slight heat even. But very lovely still. With some time in the glass the palate smooths out nicely. Though after about an hour it starts to take on some prune-like notes. I fear that this might have been better 2-3 years earlier. So will pop my second and last bottle soon!

  • Nose of worn leather, cassis, tobacco, Tabasco, and other lovely flavors that just suck you into the glass. Lovely palate – some amazing fruit with some nice acid that just lets it run around your mouth. The palate has some nice sweet red fruit, herbs, with hints of dark chocolate, some nice tannins that add structure but do not overpower, ending with a subtle hint of mint. The mint becomes a bit more pronounced as the wine sits in the glass. The finish is quite long and pleasant. This is drinking beautifully right now. Could certainly last a few more years, perhaps longer, though not sure if it will get better. Perhaps some more tertiary flavors will develop? With time however this begins to simplify a bit. I would say it started at a 94, and then settled into a 90 or even a bit higher. So will put this at 92.

  • i do agree with JayP and Keith Cooper. however: knowing Thelema for many years (and vintages) this is a bit below my expectations

  • Still a full bold deep ruby colour with a little rust colour at edge. Nose was cedar, tobacco and light berry. On palate it was smokey (in a nice way) good berry flavours, very smooth (almost gone) tannins; just a tiny bit of sharpness at the end but a long and v pleasant aftertaste. Not desperately sophiticated but v pleasant, drunk with a Moussaka which was probably not the best match but didn't impair the enjoyment. Mine has been well celaraed but I'd still drink pretty soon if you have any left.
