  • Seems a little bit thin.

  • Poured with just a hint of bricking on the rim. The nose gave of a profile of dried black fruit, some smoke and leather and cedar. The tannins have finally faded but remain lurking just beneath the surface. The oldie has finally matured and gave a great drink with a grilled steak. I doubt it will improve, but properly cellared it has a few years life remaining.

  • Short decant. IN fill, cork in good condition. Garnet, lightening up. Earth, a touch of barnyard, smoke, on the palate this is still a bit rough with more dark than red fruit, still a fair bit of tannins with a touch of bitterness. Medium finish. Would still lay down for a few years, for well stored bottles. 89-90

  • Tasted at February 11, 2011 Toronto Wine Cru Event, Wine Spectator Off-Line Event. Limited or no notes, as tasted 28 wines. Nose - decent. Palette - Showing its age, some complexity, nice.

  • From 750ml. Decanted and served immediately. Brick red core, fading to the rim but no hint of brown. On the nose, cherry, slight smokiness a little bit of leather. Palate surprisingly full, no tannin or harshness and plenty of primary fruit remaining. Dark cherries again, spice and cigar box. Overall a real surprise from Pavie's little brother and a real result for the year. Not as complex as a top flight wine and a little stunted in the finish BUT in balance and packed with fruit this wine is surprisingly and constantly good (last 4 of 12). Will hold firm for another 5 years.
