First bottle of an OWC-12 bought en primeur. Okay, il y a un petit moment depuis ... et finalement j'ai su attendre ... Fill: high fill. Cork: fine (2 cm stained) and no problem to pull out. No decant. Colour: still deep red with brown/orange rim. Only some sediment with the last glass (see uploaded pic). Still some fruit on the nose. Tannins all resolved. No more acid. Lovely and fine velvet stuff of old classic Bordeaux at only 12,5 % ABV.

10 years on from previous bottle, good mid-neck level, crumbly cork, decanted 2+ hours, distinctly brown, much more than last bottle, a bit worrying, however nose lovely and very much alive, quite youthful, aromatic, lifted, intense, concentrated complex and fine, just excellent, warm but still fresh, cedar and forest floor, palate lean in style but with great weight and balance, tertiary flavours but still with some sweet fruit on the mid-palate, the green herbaceous Moulis character has now faded and the subtle character helps keep it all clean and fresh, so now really positive, fully mature and if anything on the back-end of the drinking window but still very enjoyable, last bottle which is fine, this is now showing its age and if I had more I would plan to drink them soon, that being said it held wonderfully over several hours of drinking and showed no signs of tiredness

(Chateau Poujeaux) This was one of the youngest oldest wines I have ever opened. Nose of tar, tobacco and some tight cassis and berry fruit under there. Beyond backwards in the mouth. Completely dominated by its stucture. Some very backwards tasting tart fruit . . but a long finish so the promise was there. After 24 hours there was classic Poujeaux nose of leather, game, deep berry fruit and cassis. Plus some secondary nuances of pencil lead and chestnut. Full, dense and lush with all the 1990 fruit in full glory and the elegance of a classed growth. Wonderfullt vibrant dark cherry and currant fruit with tremendous inner mouth aromas. I would hold these for at least five years if anyone has some. If not decant for 24-28 hours.

deutlich gealtert, noch gut trinkbar.
Eher dünn, kein Fleisch, kein Körper. Leicht, kein Holz. Kurz

4 hours upon opening serving into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Root” day): Pale garnet to the eyes.
Saline, mature red cherries and bramble fruits. Some dates too.
Secondary notes driven on the palate. Elegant and leaner style. Nice traditional style.
93-94 points.
