This wine was incredibly good, even out of the shit stemware at the restaurant. Perhaps there is bottle variation. My bottle was in immaculate condition and tasted of mature Bordeaux from a cool year. Wet autumnal leaves, moss, dried cherry, green bell pepper, cigar, oak. On the palate, intense yet light, tannins totally resolved and easier to drink than water. Benchmark aged bordeaux. This property hit a home run in 2007 and I plan to seek out a better vintage looking for a Grand Slam.

I love this chateau, but having tasted this vintage I would not want to pay the price for a bottle. It is a beautiful color and has the classic Bordeaux characteristics of black cassis, black cherry and a little plum jam. The aroma is slightly sherry-tinged. The fruit is vibrant but does not last. The finish is short, with some tannin. I think this was a light year for Bordeaux. I would like to hear what experience others have had with this vintage

Degelijke, klassieke Bordeaux, maar veel te veel geld voor neergelegd op Catawiki. Is op zijn top. Vol, hoog in de zuren, droog. Donkere roodbruine kleur. Mooie neus met veel bramen, leer, gedroogde kruiden, sigarendoos en wat weeïg. In de mond wat minder overtuigend: rijpe tannines, wat bessen en eiken. Geen overtuigende afdronk.

Académie des Cinquante Claret Tasting (Restaurant Rijsel, Amsterdam, NL): Tasted blind. Magnum. Mature but lively appearance, sombre colour, the most evolved of the trio, drying tannins, dry finish. Tired, even from this grand format.
