I was a little disappointed in the showing of the '70 Poujeaux I lugged back from Paris. The wine was definitely past prime and the fruit fading. I joked that I checked the fruit at Charles de Gaulle and it got lost on the way to Vancouver. In fairness to the merchant who sold it to me (Herve), he said that the flavours would be mostly tertiary at this point (leather, mushrooms, etc.). This was certainly true.
