So young and powerful. Dense aromas with lots of sweet fruit and brown sugar spice. Decadently rich yet refined fruit on the palate. Intense floral and potpourri perfume in the finish. Upside from here.

A Birthday / Burgundy Dinner (The Bristol): Opened 15-20 minutes before serving, this opened slowly and kept getting better through the evening. Red cherry and berry came across as firm to start, then more robust with ever. This never showed great power, but really showcased the great balance and textural brilliance of the finest Chambolle can demonstrate, with a bright weightlessness by the time we were finishing the wine. The Jadot 1996 les Amoureuses in the next glass was better to start, but this Vogüé 1998 is better to have in the cellar.

Had an inkling of what it could be, but had that slight oxidized note on the back end that made it rather unenjoyable. Crushed red fruit, some forest floor, somewhat persistent finish, but all in all, a disappointment. Gave it plenty of time as well, perhaps poor storage somewhere along the way?

During a Paulee dinner, so only brief impressions. Dense, dark fruit, earthy notes. A bit coarse but aromatic finish. 94+

La Paulée - Friday Night Dinner (A Fiori): A wow wine with ethereal fruit that has nuance and intensity. Layer after layer unfolds with time. Terrific.
