  Garnet rim. muted fruit, vegetal nose. Quite high acid on the palate, a bit of fruit (red/black berries, touch of cherry) but not much. I really wanted to like this, but I'm afraid it came across as some what dreary and lacking in fruit. Not what one expects at 1er cru level (although this vintage is labelled as a monopole). Disappointing, and was probably best drunk 10 years ago.

  Lovely now. Light on its feet. Dark berries, sous bois, cherries. Good length, very nice now.

  Sur un lièvre a la royale manquant un peu de caractère il fut plutôt a l’aise, un peu plus causant que la fois dernière, fin et acidulé, finement animal et sous-bois, dans un style droit, salin, mûr (presque sudiste dans son évolution -syrah- comme un clos de tart)
  Tout cela manque de charme aromatiquement à mon sens, le style Gouges reste toujours concis, sur la réserve, dans un registre austère et automnal.
  Faudrait-il l’attendre encore? Mhmm… mais je ne vois pas ce qu’il peut gagner a vieillir…

  Un nez pas causant, terne, épicé/animal, sans pureté, d'une désolante banalité. La bouche est pluis interessante, fine, fraiche, saline, sans aspérité, très légèrement boisée. Comme souvent avec Gouges, on ne s'amuse pas beaucoup, mais là au moins, la finesse tactile séduit.
  Reste que je suis incapable de lire et prédire son avenir.
