  Tasted blind. Ruby red clear color with orange edges. The nose has french herbes and tomato sauce. This I only get from aged pinot from the feminine villages, mainly Vosne and sometimes Volnay. The palate has lots of power and concentration. The tannins are old and not very prominent. They are gentle and calm, almost non-existing. I am guessing 2007 Vosne 1.cru level on this one, and I am very happy to be so close. Really good, but not all the way up there in power and concentration. On the top of its drinking window now and the next 5 years, at least.

  Marked tea notes. I would have liked to have seen a bit more acid balance out the fruit, but along the edges/in the finish, there was still some elegance.
